Multiple sensor types can be connected to the RealSense data logger. The measurements can be visualised by the report and chart functionality of RealM2M or H2gO telemetry/monitoring software.

The RealSense data logger is utilized in the following areas:

Fill level

A recycle company collects large paper containers. Each container is fitted with a RealSense data logger which is able to record the fill level of containers. As soon as a container is filled for 80%, a text message is sent to RealM2M; based on this information the Logistics department determines the route for the drivers. The drivers can also request the fill level of a container by sending a text message to that specific container; the RealSense returns the actual level. Making logistics more efficient, RealSense is a very cost-effective solution for a relatively small investment.

Overflow registration

For registration of overflows, RealSense offers the following solution:

• A hydrostatic sensor which accurately measures the variation in drains;

• The RealSense data logger with internal feed, storage capacity and a communication device for automated transmission of data;

• Assembly material for securing both the data logger and the pressure sensor.

Surface water

The RealSense data logger can be utilised for monitoring water levels. In combination with H2gO this offers the following benefits:

• Standalone monitoring, registration and sending of data; no mains electricity required;

• Generation of measure ranges which make trends visible and allow for analysis;

• Acquiring highly accurate and reliable measure ranges;

• Obtaining data of the behaviour of the water system within a basin;

• Supporting the creation of detailed models;

• Giving the opportunity to act in a timely manner in case of undesired changes or calamities within a specific area;

• Obtaining information which is required from a regulation point of view.

Groundwater

RealSense offers various options with regard to measuring and registration of groundwater levels. Measurements from pressure sensors installed in monitoring wells are often read out manually; these sensors can be connected to the RealSense data logger which is equipped with a communication device.

Measure ranges can be made available in reports and charts when connecting this measure system with H2gO. This connection makes it possible to identify trends and gain insight in the behaviour within a specific area.

Rainfall

With respect to measuring and registration of rainfall data multiple options are available. Mostly the rainfall meter locations are configured within the H2gO process information system; the data can be accessed through a web-based front-end. This way the rainfall intensity can be recorded per area and can be compared with for example overflow data.

Multiple types of rainfall meters can be connected to the RealSense data logger.

Water quality

Next to the above mentioned applications for groundwater, surface water, wastewater and rainfall measurements, RealSense also offers applications like measuring and registering the quality of water.
